2020/2021 LEGISLATOR OF THE YEAR
Bobby Kaufmann
State Representative Bobby Kaufmann has been a consistent
champion of EMS over the last few years. If there has been
legislation passed that promotes EMS in Iowa , he probably has a
hand in getting it over the finish line. It was largely his
leadership on the issue that got our essential services bill
passed in the House with only one dissenting vote. He has a
reputation, on this issue in particular, for working with both
parties, sharing credit for EMS bills moving forward in the
House, and a willingness to bridge gaps and get the job done for
our industry. He has sponsored and championed our essential
services bill the last couple of sessions and supported IEMSA
priorities in the past, including the interstate compact.
For his past and continued support of EMS in Iowa, I nomnate
State Representative Bobby Kaufmann for IEMSA's 2020 Legislator
of the Year Award.
