Description
HCHC EMS is a hospital-based ALS service, which in conjunction with a strong network of volunteer first responders, provides high-quality emergency medical services to all of Henry County. In addition to 911 responses, we provide basic, advanced and critical care transport for patients from HCHC and other local facilities to tertiary care facilities. Between emergency responses and interfacility transports, we respond to approximately 2,300 calls per year. Service Description
The Lisbon-Mount Vernon Ambulance Service provides emergency medical services to a 150 square mile area and services a population of more than 6,000, including students of Cornell College. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Being a positive representative for LMVAS to communities, EMS colleagues, and the media. Duties may include, but are not limited to; responding to ambulance calls during working hours, making sure call hours are covered on the schedule, and covering call as needed if there are gaps, events, training, etc. Assuring compliance with all policies, protocols, and requirements of the government, board of directors, and medical director. Work Schedule

  • Current valid Iowa or Illinois Chauffeur driver's license
  • Current valid BCLS Healthcare Provider certification
  • Current valid ACLS certification
  • Current valid Iowa Paramedic
  • Current valid Illinois Paramedic registration
  • Clean driving record (No previous DUI or serious charges) and Clean background check

General Responsibilities

  • Respond to calls in a timely and safe manner.
  • Provide general medical care and treatment to patients in both emergent and non-emergency settings. Show the ability to perform ALS functions while following State, Company, and County Protocols.
  • Accurately document pertinent patient information, condition, and treatment on all required forms (Patient Care Reports, Signature Forms, and PCS forms) in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance.
  • Represent the Company by being courteous, professional, and ethical behavior while working with other members of the health care system including co-workers.
  • Lift and move patients as required to provide optimum care.
  • Professionally communicate with receiving Emergency Departments and Dispatchers.
  • Regular attendance consistent with scheduled hours. Willing to work overtime as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, and in accordance with Paramedic Job Description.
