2019 DISPATCHER OF THE YEAR
Brandon Miller-Guss
Brandon is the Quality Supervisor at MEDIC EMS in Davenport,
Iowa. Brandon has been the Quality Supervisor as a Call Taker /
Dispatcher for seven years and has been serving as a Call Taker
/ Dispatcher for over twenty years. He is Emergency Medical
Dispatch (EMD) and Emergency Fire Dispatch (EFD) certified.
Brandon is the foundation of the EMD Quality program at MEDIC
EMS as an EMD Q (Quality Auditor) and an EMD Q instructor. He
helps to oversee the Accredited Center of Excellence (ACE)
accreditation and monthly compiles and submits the required data
for accreditation. Brandon was very instrumental in implementing
a true “Priority Dispatch” system of dispatching calls by level
of severity based on the call intake process for all of Scott
County and continuously monitors and updates this program as
needed to ensure that the right responders are sent to the right
patient at the right time. Brandon is currently serving as the
Iowa State President of the National Emergency Numbers
Association (NENA), and is Emergency Number Professional (ENP)
certified.
