(4.15.2020) These protocols and guidance documents
were composed for several EMS services who share common EMS medical
directors across northeast Iowa, working in collaboration (Dr. L.
Fagre, Dr. W. Fangman, Dr. C. Hill, and Dr. C. Joylani), and these
are approved for use by their services only. They are posted here
for reference, should other EMS services find them useful. These are
not official State documents/procedures nor are they necessarily
endorsed by the Iowa EMS Association.

For critical information relating to the Covid-19
virus, IDPH recommends that you regularly monitor information
provided by the following organizations:
If a patient tests positive for COVID-19 through a national
reference laboratory, the ordering healthcare provider must notify
IDPH immediately prior to patient notification by calling the Iowa
Department of Public Health’s Center for Acute Disease Epidemiology
(CADE) at 800-362-2736,
see COVID-19 Testing Framework for Iowa.
Iowans can call 211 for information and to have questions
answered about COVID-19.
